France Ski Holidays from Dare2Ski
Skiing or Boarding in France is an experience followed by about a third of the UK winter sports enthusiasts. It offers superb skiing or boarding and sometimes spectacular scenery, as well as the largest piste and lift systems in the world. Many of the resorts are high and snow sure and there are significant choices of resorts, most of which are easily accessed with short transfers from Geneva, Chambery or Grenoble. Its a great country too for those who want to drive. French mountains offer a mixture of some of the toughest, wildest slopes in the Alps and some of the longest, gentlest and most convenient beginner runs.
France offers some very pretty towns and villages, such as Samoens, Megeve and Morzine, which links into significant ski areas and some less pretty, such as Avoriaz, Les Menuires and Flaine, which also link into significant ski areas. The choice is huge and there are many more traditional village options to choose from. Courchevel and Meribel are particularly popular with the Brits, mainly for the huge ski area. Morzine, Les Gets, Chamonix, Megeve etc are very popular being so close to Geneva and easily accessed by all forms of transport. Tignes and Val DIsere are popular as the former is high and offers cheap accommodation options and the latter offering superb extensive skiing for the better skiers and lively nightlife. Both are on the same Espace Killy ski pass.
There is a resort in France which suits you, with many resorts offering the best selection of catered chalets in Europe. Apartments are also popular for those who prefer the self catered option. Hotels too can offer some good half board alternatives. Newer more spacious apartments are being built, which is a welcome change from some of the more traditional, claustrophobic accommodation offerings with Flaine and Les Arcs benefitting.
So for resorts that are easy to get to from any airport and easy to drive to, certainly from the south of England, France may well be your best choice for your next ski holiday and we are here to help.
