The superb ski resort of Sölden comprises two glaciers, 33 lifts and approximately 150 kilometres of pistes. The main part of the ski resort is located at 1,377m and reaches 3,340m on three peaks (the big three). The highest peak you can reach by ski lift is 3269 m, ensuring rather good snow all season, with Obergurgl being a short distance away and skiable on the same Solden ski pass. Most of the skiing is above 2000m and above the treeline with the longest run being a thigh draining 15km.Beginners can learn in guaranteed snow, but there are lots of red and black runs to enjoy, again in snow sure conditions. Awesome resort too for off piste enthusiasts or for those wanting to learn and great for intermediates.

Sölden is certainly one of the top international ski resorts in Austria and perhaps better known now with hosting the last James Bond movie, Spectre and now hosts an 007 exhibition centre. The town itself, whilst certainly not the prettiest of ski towns in Austria, stretches for more than 2km along the valley floor with traditional Tyrolean-style buildings situated on both sides of the river and along the main road. It is a very vibrant resort with a great atmosphere and certainly is one of the top 10 in Europe for apres ski.

With more runs than Chamonix and Kitzbühel, Sölden has a lot to offer. The annual opening World Cup Ski race is hosted on the Rettenbach glacier every October. It is also renowned as a snowboard mecca.Try the Big 3 tour!

There are countless restaurants, bars and shops along the main street in Solden and a sports centre with indoor adventure pool, public sauna, indoor tennis courts and bowling. The après-ski is world-renowned with numerous pubs and clubs offering live music and DJs as well as a big party experience. It rocks with live bands and apres ski dancers, especially the Schirmbar and Giggijoch on the slopes. Then a must visit is the Phillipe Eisbar where the apres ski has developed into something professional!Solden really does have all the ingredients of a fabulous trip for a week or short break.
