Away from some of the hideous man made villages,at La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand we have a lovely traditional Savoyarde villages, with La Clusaz is one of the oldest and prettiest in the alps. Not perhaps as well known as some of its neighbours such at Chamonix or Morzine, which is perhaps a blessing, as if you go there you will be pleasantly surprised with fewer people but a superb atmosphere.Who dares to go ..wins!! The guests whom have visited have all raved about the area and its traditional village feel, its great selection of bars, shops and restaurants and great value. There is skiing here for all abilities its ski area of 130km, plus a further 90km on the Aravis ski pass in neighbouring, Le Grand Bornand, connected by a free ski bus.

La Clusaz is ideal for beginners, with the nursery slopes just outside the village centre, being gentle tree lined runs served by the Beauregard gondola and the many confidence building green and blue runs throughout the area. For intermediates there are 5 interlinked mountains in the area making  it an excellent choice. The magnificent tree skiing at Alguille and the harder reds on the Cret du loup are amongst the many challenges on offer,or take the bus to the Grand Bornand for even more excellent skiing. For those who consider themselves as experts then some of the best skiing is found on the Massif de la Balme and there is normally plenty of powder in the steep gullies of Fernuy and Borderan. The gondola from the bottom of La Balme to Cote 2000, gives easy access to the Massif de L'Aguille.Beginner to expert boarders will have so much fun here too, especially at Massif de la Balme though there are 43 drag lifts!
