Park City Resort

One of the best-known resorts in America and only a 45 minute transfer from Salt Lake City, the legendary powder snow of Park City has long been an irresistible attraction for skiers. The resort lies at the heart of Utah's famous ski area which includes Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley and The Canyons Resort and allows you the opportunity to ski some of the best runs in the Rockies, in some of the best snow conditions in the world. Clustered close together in the same valley, separated only by a fence, is upmarket  and classy Deer Valley, with its unparalleled service and quality as well as the up and coming brash neighbour - The Canyons, offering over 200km of skiing, 155 trails and 17 lifts. In 2016 Park City became connected by lift to Canyons and now boasts the biggest connected ski area in America of over 400km.

A former mining town, this colourful past is the very heart of Park City. Here, the spirit of the Old West is still to be found in the historic Victorian buildings on Main Street, which has many smart boutiques and art galleries. The town is lively at night with many bars, such as JB Mulligan or the Alamo  offering live music. Choose from over 100 bars and restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine from Thai to Texan! If you have enjoyed resorts such as Breckenridge and Steamboat, then you will love the unique cocktail of western atmosphere and world class skiing for all levels. Ski  or dance till you drop ! And do not forget those many factory outlets as you come into the resort.

The lifts start from the centre of Park City, or at the Resort Centre, so there is access to ski in ski out accommodations. Its a great base to stay in with a huge choice of private homes, condos and hotels. Hotel Park City is a leading 4 star hotel to stay at and Silver King offers some fabulous 4 star condos. Prices go down the further you stay away from the slopes, with Park City Peaks leading the way and Racquet Club offering some good deals, together with Sun Creek. Help and advice in choosing is on hand at Dare2ski and its sister US Skitours.

Much of the mountain consists of blue and black trails or pistes cut through the trees on the flanks of rounded mountain ridges, with easier runs running along the ridges and gullies between. More interesting terrain is in the lightly wooded bowls and ridges at the top. The steeper stuff is accessed by the McConkey express chair and consists of ungroomed bowls. Snowboarders will think they are in heaven with 4 terrain parks, rated as some of the worlds best and huge amounts of freeriding. Do not forget in 2002 they had the Olympic winter games here and you can see why!!Some skiing is open until 7.30pm too for the die hards ! Try out the Olympic bob sleigh too!

On the same 3 resort pass is also Deer Valley and Canyons, Deer Valley Resort, next door has been honoured with being named the number 1 ski resort in North America by the readers of SKI magazine for the third time. Remarkably, in the past seven years, the ratings have not dipped lower than third. Deer Valley is consistently ranked number 1 in the individual areas of dining, guest service and mountain grooming. Beware Snowboarders! You are verboten to board here!!! Thats paradise for some and worth the trip alone for that aspect!!

The Canyons offers great skiing and boarding for all levels, but better for intermediates and advanced. You certainly wont be bored here.Check out the Dakota hotel which is one of the best ski resort hotels around,if you have an unlimited budget.Simply stunning and right by the lifts.Bed to snow in seconds! After all that hard work on the slopes maybe tag on some nights in Las Vegas nearby too. After such great skiing, are you feeling lucky?
