Newly built and completed in 2020, Chalet Alpacka IV is an outstanding family chalet, boasting south-west views both up and down the valley, surrounded on 3 sides by fields and just an easy 10 minute walk to the centre of the pretty mountain village of Chatel. It is perfectly set up for a large family or group of up to 10, with space for everyone. The chalet has 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a large well-equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge. There is also a family room on the lower level which leads out to the private hot tub. The chalet can be rented on a self catered or catered half board basis to suit, on a Sunday to Sunday basis

On arriving at the chalet if driving here, you can park your car in the garage, plus there is space for 3 more cars outside. There are 2 doors at the front, one leads to the ski room, with storage for boots and ski-wear and any skis or snowboards can be put in the integral garage. Through the front door (the middle floor of the chalet), you are met with a lovely bright and large reception area. On your right there is a large cupboard for all the family’s coats, shoes etc. On your left are the doors to the ski and boot room (where the washing machine and tumble dryer are) and to a WC. On this level there is underfloor heating.

You then enter the large well equipped kitchen with Smeg oven and microwave, hob, fridge-freezer, wine fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, toaster, etc with plenty of cutlery, crockery and glassware for everyone, along with plastic sets for the children. The kitchen also contains other standard kitchen essentials. Next to the kitchen is a dining table with space for 10, along with a high chair for infants. This space also boasts an attractive log burner, Bose speaker with Bluetooth connection and the lounge area with very large windows and beautiful views both up and down the valley. There are sliding doors which lead out to the south-west facing balcony, which is equipped with a BBQ (in the summer) and furniture to eat outside on those sunny days, along with a couple of sun loungers.

Upstairs in the chalet there is a large master bedroom, with a south west facing balcony. The bed is made up of 2 x 90 x 200cm singles, so bedding can be a queen or 2 singles upon your request. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with double sinks, a bath/shower and toilet. There is also a walk-in wardrobe here. On this floor there are another two bedrooms – 1 double (150 x2 00cm), and a twin. Both bedrooms have cupboard hanging and shelf space and have a shared shower room and WC. The bedrooms on this level have air conditioning units which are also heaters in winter.

The lower ground floor benefits from underfloor heating. This level consists of the cave (where the logs for the burner are stored), a twin bedroom (beds are 80 x 200cm) and a double bedroom which is made of 2 singles (90 x 200cm). Both of these bedrooms can be either a double or singles at your request, and a cot is available on request. They share a large shower room. There is a spacious family room with sofas, 50″ TV, Freesat (for UK TV), Orange box (for French TV), DVDs and children’s toys and games, and a desk for working, with excellent WiFi throughout the chalet. The external door leads out to the hot tub (6 persons) and garden where you can relax and enjoy the views and mountain air.

The chalet is positioned just below the village centre, a 10-minute uphill walk about 700m away, but downhill on the way home! One of the frequent free bus services passes very close, less than 100m away, going to the Linga ski area, with the Super Chatel lift around 900m away.

During the winter, it is law in France to have either winter tyres for your car, or snow chains. The drive and roads are cleared daily during times of snow, but please take note if you are bringing your own vehicle and want to drive around.
