Description
Chalet Aurora is one of the few ski-in/ski-out chalets in St Anton being directly on a blue piste,  just above the village, on the side of the Galzig area. From the chalet you just clip into your bindings and then its a blue run down to the Gampen and Galzig lifts, which are pretty much 100% snow sure until the end of April. St Anton isn’t known for its choice of slopeside chalets, but if that is top of your priorities then this is the chalet for you. Ski back to the chalet at the end of the day and store your skis in the heated ski room with ski boot dryers/warmers.
To the dismay of the chalet staff and untouched afternoon snacks, the lively and very popular Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh are also virtually on the doorstep, both great venues to end your days skiing, which have to be experienced to be believed (these bars close by 8pm, so they maybe won’t disturb your evening). This means its truly a unique accommodation, being both a ski in/ski out and an apres ski in/out option!!
The lively resort centre is less than a 10 minute walk down the piste and not much longer if you opt for the road. Coming back up from town, you can take the local bus which stops just a couple of minutes walk from the chalet.
The chalet is a very comfortable top floor apartment and sleeps up to 12 people in its five spacious bedrooms, one of which one is a self contained ensuite studio on the ground floor. There is a dining room with satellite TV and a separate living room with another flat screen TV, offering a great place to relax. If driving here parking is complimentary. The very kind owner lives in a self-contained apartment in the building and she asks kindly for you to stop loud noises after 10.30pm. No problem with a normal noise level, but shouting and yelling is verboten! Thus perhaps more of a chalet for families than for groups of party seekers.

This is normally presented buffet-style for you to help yourself.
Afternoon Tea
When you get back from a day on the slopes a fresh homemade afternoon tea is waiting for you complete with a selection of homemade cookies, cake, scones or brownies. You can choose hot chocolate, tea, coffee, glühwein or another drink. For younger children the chalet can provide high tea, allowing children to get settled after the excitement of the day, giving parents the opportunity to enjoy the evening in a calm and peaceful environment.
High Tea Examples :
- Scones with strawberry jam
- Frankfurter sausages in puff pastry
- Quiche
- Apple-cheese cookies
- Roasted garlic – cheese bread
- Lemon Crunch Cake
Evening Meals
The highlight of every day must be the delicious and freshly cooked three-course dinner prepared and served by your chalet hosts, six evenings a week and accompanied by unlimited local house wines, with coffee and tea to finish.
The staff are happy to cater for vegetarians and whenever possible for those needing special diets, but we need to be notified at the time of booking. Please make sure this appears on your invoice otherwise they will not be able to plan their menus accordingly. If you have any special dietary requirements, be it a vegetarian option or a special favourite for the kids, the chalet staff will do their best (within reason!) to accommodate you.
Over a drink, the hosts will discuss the menu and times with you. They can change the menu a little depending on your wishes. They can also discuss a special menu for the children.
Dinner and a cooked breakfast option are not possible during the chalet hosts’ day off, so you will have the opportunity of eating at a local restaurant. Chalet hosts will be happy to give you information about the many local restaurants available in each of the resorts and to book a table for you.
The chalet hosts will prepare dinner for all the group together with a separate menu for the children. Naturally, if you have booked a whole chalet for your exclusive use, the choice of dining separately or together is entirely up to you. If you choose separately, it maybe good that you could relax during dinner while the children are sleeping in your own chalet, safely.
