Chalet Grand Pares is an excellent 6 bedroom ski-in/ski-out catered chalet, spread over 2 floors and ideally located on an easy blue piste and right by the Fornet ski lift. At an altitude of 2000m you have from the 1st of December until the end of April with pretty much the best snow in Europe, with immediate access to the high altitude Espace Killy ski area. The chalet is located in the most sought-after area of Val d’Isère and sleeps up to 12 people in its 6 bedrooms, all fully en-suite with a shower or bath and WC. Val d’Isère has one of the best reputations of any French ski resorts and is arguably the most famous ski resort in the world, which has surprisingly still kept its charm, village tradition and historical ambiance, whist being THE most vibrant place to be seen at in France, with a great apres ski scene, bustling nightlife, plethora of bars, numerous quality restaurants and chic boutiques.

This excellent and great value catered chalet features a very comfortable living room with comfy sofas, satellite TV and a separate dining room which boasts spectacular views of the glacier and ski runs. A large sun-terrace and numerous balconies ensures you can take in these views from almost everywhere at the chalet. The chalet has a heated ski storage room with ski boot dryers/warmers and if driving here there is complimentary parking at the chalet, which is a rarity in Val d’Isère. The excellent and free ski-bus/shuttle service stops right outside the chalet, ensuring you have a choice of places to start your days activities, or for returning home at the end of the day should you finish your skiing elsewhere. Your chalet staff also live out, so your privacy is completely guaranteed.

On arrival in your chalet you will find a genuine warm welcome from your English speaking Dutch chalet staff. You will be helped with your luggage and during your chalet staff’s welcome brief, drinks and handmade canapés/nibbles will be served to you in the lounge, depending of course on what time you arrive. Beds will be made up with fresh bed linen and towels provided in your room, so just unpack your suitcase and start your holiday.

Your morning starts with a hearty continental breakfast to fuel your day on the slopes. The smell of coffee in the morning ensures you can easily find your way to the table to enjoy a breakfast of freshly baked baguettes straight from the famous local bakery, jams, fresh eggs, spreads, cornflakes, cereals, muesli, yoghurts, fresh fruit, milk, fruit juices, hot chocolate, fresh coffee and pots of tea. Then it’s time to hit the slopes, with your chalet staff doing the dishes, making the beds, cleaning the chalet’s public areas and doing the shopping.

After your day on the slopes you will return to your chalet which is kept clean and sanitised throughout your stay, with a towel change midweek. It’s a ski chalet tradition your chalet staff will have laid out afternoon tea with freshly home-made après-ski snacks/canapés/nibbles for your return. Chalet staff are there to light the fire and the chalet will be filled with the aroma of baking. Freshly prepared mulled wine or ‘vin chaud’ or tasty hot chocolate will also be awaiting your return to warm you up.

While you sit back and relax in the chalet or maybe after a drink or two in one of the local bars, the chalet staff will be creating a freshly home cooked three course dinner for you on 6 evenings of the 7 you are there for. The atmosphere is like that of a dinner party, with all meals being prepared with fresh local produce. To complement your meal staff serve free and unlimited quantities of a range of good quality red and white wines during the course of your dinner. During your entire stay, ALL drinks, (except spirits) in the chalet, such as beer, wine, soft drinks, juices, coffee and tea are free and unlimited, at ANY time and not just restricted to meal times, so help yourself to the chalet drinks fridge throughout your stay. And of course, you can also make tea and coffee, anytime you want. If you want a well located, catered chalet in Val D without breaking the bank, this is one to seriously consider.
