Chalet Sophia is an excellent traditionally built Savoyard style chalet and a mere snowball throw from the piste!  Getting to the skiing could not be easier! Simply walk out of the front door, turn right, clip into your bindings and off you go down the ‘Altiport’ easy green run which takes you to the main ski lifts at the Berger Complex and the meeting place for the ski & snowboarding school.

The chalet itself is located within the exclusive ‘Altiport’ hamlet, tucked above and away in one of the most scenic areas of Alpe d’Huez and as you are pretty much on the piste, in a slightly elevated position, resulting in terrific views from the chalet.

Modern and nicely furnished, the chalet comes complete with its own sauna. The spacious open plan layout of the dinning area, living area and kitchen, enables the chalet to be an extremely social place to be. Guests can gather round the dining room table and chat with colleagues or get ready for the next meal prepared by yourselves, if self catering, or with our chef if you prefer the catered half board option. The open log fire place in the lounge provides another wonderful focal point to the chalet, where you can gather round the flames of the wood burning fireplace and chat about the days events or tomorrows excursions over a glass or cup of something.

All the 5 bedrooms in Chalet Sophia are en-suite with either a shower or bath & WC. The chalet comes equipped with Satellite TV and a DVD player, so feel free to bring some films over for a bit of evening entertainment. There is a CD player too as well as an iPod docking station.

From the lounge area, you can walk through onto the large sun terrace which given that the chalet is located pretty much on the piste, you get some of the best uniterrupted views that Alpe d’Huez has to offer. Relax with a glass of ‘vin chaud’ and watch the last of the skiers make their way back down the slopes.

Bookable with sole occupancy only self catered or with our fully catered option which provides 6 days of meals throughout your stay.
Your chef will provide to you a hearty breakfast with a choice of cooked options, cereals & fruits.
Afternoon tea and cakes or wine, beer and snacks will be waiting for you upon your return from the slopes.
In the evening you will be treated to a freshly cooked 3 course meal with free flowing wine.
Your chalet chefs traditional day off will normally be Tuesday or Wednesday.

Our partial catered option involves no chef, but a pre cooked 3 course evening meal delivery service for you to re heat and eat. An excellent option cooked by chefs and for any number of nights on a pre ordered basis. Menu supplied on request. A great and inexpensive option.
