Chalet Summary

Enter on the top floor of this three-storey chalet, which sleeps 10 in six en suite bedrooms. There’s a useful ski room as you enter, but the rest of the top floor is given over to a wonderful open plan living, dining and kitchen area. You’ll be struck by the wonderful light – a wall of windows ensures this space is full of natural light, and makes the most of the great river and mountain views. There are two separate seating areas, a cosy fireplace and a sleek, well-equipped kitchen and breakfast bar. This area also opens on to a wraparound furnished terrace, where you can enjoy your morning coffee and an evening apero as the sun sets. There’s even a hot tub – the prefect way to relax at the end of a perfect day.

Go down a floor to four of the six double bedrooms – two of them can be arranged as twin or double rooms and all of them have stylish en suite shower rooms and plenty of wardrobe space. Cosy throws and Egyptian cotton bed linen will help you get a good night’s sleep.

The two remaining bedrooms are down another floor – both have super king size double beds as well as access to the balcony and an en suite bath and shower room. There is also a laundry room on this floor.

The chalet also offers a superb cinema room, where you can all get together for a movie night, as well as a Sonos sound system and wifi.

About the area

The chalet is in the centre of Morzine, in the Portes du Soleil, which, with 12 interconnected resorts in France and Switzerland, and 650km of pistes, offers plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities.

If you’re not a skier, Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which often host ice hockey matches, and the local cinema often shows films in English.

The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area’s frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride. Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park offers a variety of activities for all ages.

When the snow melts, the lush green slopes around Morzine become a haven for walkers, mountain bikers and thrill-seekers. The lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure. Take a picnic, and make a day of it!

Morzine has earned the Famille Plus status for its excellent childcare and entertainment program, so it’s the perfect choice for young families. There are superb water parks in town and in neighbouring Avoriaz, as well as two summer sledges, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages.

Golfers will find excellent courses in Les Gets and Avoriaz. Other activities include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing and kayaking.
